TV Screens - It’s Not The Size It’s What You Do With It

I believe this article written by the wife of that guy who loves his 42 inch plasma TV.

Though there are many types of technology out there, my husband seems more concerned about the size of the TV screen than what a television can do for him. Don’t get me wrong, he wants all of the extras, but he is willing to give some things up to afford a larger screen. He had great eyesight, and the one we have seems fine to me, but that doesn’t stop him from constantly talking about getting a larger television for our living room. Quite honestly, anything much bigger is going to overwhelm our small room, and I don’t think he’s going to enjoy it as much as he thinks.

The size of the TV screen is measured from corner to corner. You can measure from top right to lower left to see what size your TV screen might be. Many are sold according to the screen size, and that is often what makes a television more expensive. It doesn’t matter if it’s digital, HGTV compatible, or perhaps plasma. The larger the TV screen is the more you are going to pay for it. He has a budget in mind for our next purchase but I don’t think it is going to get him the television that he wants.

The one we have now is fine. It’s older, but the picture is still great, and the TV screen is big enough for our needs. I can watch it quite clearly from the next room, and have no problems with viewing the text that may be on the TV screen or seeing any important details on any show. I guess it’s just one of those guy things that I just don’t understand. My parents have a huge TV screen, and I have to admit that it is pretty cool, but it would just overwhelm our room. I don’t think that my husband has thought that far ahead.

If you are looking for something with a large TV screen, make sure you look at your space and decide how big is too big. There is nothing wrong with a large screen, but you don’t want to have to sit outside to take in the full view. You should know that the newer televisions offer superior color and picture, and you won’t need such a large TV screen to enjoy the shows that you love. Though budget often dictates how much you have to spend on something, don’t pay a lot for a large TV just because you can. It has to fit in with your home and you living space.
