42 Inch Plasma TVs Already A Dying Breed
The following story is from a guy who really loves his TV. However, it was written a few years ago and today 42 inch TVs are not so amazing as they once were. In fact, 42 inch TVs are kind of on the average size now and plasma is not as popular as HD high definition and LCD screens. I wonder if Bob is still in love with his 42?
My 42 Plasma TV by Bob Betone
My 42 plasma tv is practically the best that money can buy. I watch everything on it, including football games, live war coverage on cnn, the 6 o clock news, and anything else that you can think of. One of the best parts of having a 42 plasma screen is the realism of watching it – it’s like you’re actually there in the heat, making tackles and calling plays, or maybe involved in a steamy romance on a soap opera, or launching cruise missles at the enemies of freedom all around the world.
Before my current plasma television, I had a standard 17 tv. It was okay, I mean I could make out what was on the screen, and actually thought I was getting a pretty good picture, but boy I didn’t know what I wal missing out on. The best thing about my system is the surround sound. It means that the action is all around me in 360, so that its more than just watching tv. My 16 year old son calls it “more real than real,” and I can’t help but agree. What with the massive, high resolution picture, and the beautiful stereophonic sound, I don’t even really need to leave the house to have fun any more. I can sit around all day watching my 42 plasma tv, and never get bored. Of course, the wife still likes to go out around town, so every friday night, we go out for dinner and a movie, or sometimes to play miniature golf.
When shopping for a large television, it’s important to know what is good and what is not. Basically, there are only a few things to look for. The first is price – a 42 plasma tv can cost thousands of dollars, so it’s important to know that it’s worth it to you and that you have the money for it. Also, there is the matter of resolution. If it is not high enough resolution, there is almost no point, especially if you like to watch dvds or have high definition television. Another thing you should look for is quality, obviously, as with all things. Will your tv last 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? The best bay to answer all of these questions is to look at consumer reviews, or perhaps read consumer reports. My wife swears by consumer reports, and she hasn’t made a bad major purchase in years.
